Feldman, Jay

Jay Feldman is a widely published writer. He is the author of the critically acclaimed When The Mississippi Ran Backwards: Empire, Intrigue, Murder, and the New Madrid Earthquakes. His work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, Smithsonian Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times, Gourmet, and a wide variety of other national, regional and local publications. He has written for television and the stage, and his novel, Suitcase Sefton and the American Dream, is the story of a major league scout who discovers a pitcher in a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II. His latest book, Manufacturing Hysteria: A History of Scapegoating, Surveillance, and Secrecy in Modern America, was published by Pantheon in August 2011.
