The Avid Reader is pleased to welcome author Katie Arnold and her hardback, Running Home: A Memoir, in-store on Thursday, March 14rd at 7:30 p.m.
More about Running Home: A Memoir:
For years, Katie Arnold as a reporter followed extreme athletes around the world, telling their stories by living them. She and her husband, living in New Mexico, determined to raise their daughters to be adventurous as well. Her father had done the same for her, encouraging her to run her first race at seven years old. But his death from cancer changed her outlook on the world and compelled her to confront her own mortality. “Running Home” is a memoir about the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of our world when we have had to deal with life’s setbacks or want to extend ourselves to meet the greatest challenges we set for ourselves.
