Author Event - House. Tree. Person. with Catriona McPherson

The Avid Reader is so excited to welcome back Davis' own award-winning author, Catriona McPherson for a reading, discussion and signing of her sixth psychological thriller, "House. Tree. Person." on Friday, October 20th at 7:30 p.m.

In a starred review, Kirkus writes, "McPherson is a master of creating psychological tension and doubts about the motives of her characters . . . the clever way McPherson reveals each hint of the truth makes this a one-sitting read."

A year ago, she was happily married, running her beauty salon, raising her son, living in her dream house. Now, Ali McGovern's dreams are slipping away and all her old ghosts are rising.

A job at Howell Hall, the private psychiatric facility nearby, seems too good to be true. Why have they employed her? How can they afford her? And what are they hiding? When a body is discovered in a shallow grave on Ali's first day at work, it feels like one last horror. But it's just the beginning of her descent into a nightmare world she never imagined existed, far too close to home.

Catriona McPherson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is the author of multi-award-winning standalones for Midnight Ink, including the Edgar-shortlisted The Day She Died and the Mary Higgins Clark finalist Quiet Neighbors. She also writes the Agatha-winning Dandy Gilver historical mystery series (Minotaur/Thomas Dunne Books). McPherson is the past president of Sisters in Crime and a member of Mystery Writers of America.
